If You Can’t Read the Sidewalk, Watch the Trees

Sometimes darkness or stuff like leaves can conceal the concrete to the point that it makes it hard to see if the concrete is safe enough to navigate.

One thing you can do to make situations like this a little safer is pay attention to any trees lining the sidewalk you’re on.

Tree roots rip the ever‐loving shit out of concrete. If you’re on a sidewalk and having trouble seeing the exact condition of the concrete in front of you, just make sure you slow down as you approach any nearby trees. Odds are high that the section of concrete next to the tree have been damaged in some way that might pose a hazard to your chair.
