Do you have any advice on maintaining core strength that doesn’t require a lot of leg function? I’ve discovered just how easy it is to lose and how sore it’s making my back. I’d love to maintain my ability to stand if possible. Things that can be done in my own home with minimal equipment would be most helpful to know about.
I recommend the following exercises, but I’m no expert and most of this comes from research vs personal experience.
The Dead Bug
You lie on your back, raise your arms straight up, and slowly lower one arm overhead while holding the position. The point is to not let your back arch.
Pallof Press Variations
You could do many of these seated or lying down. All you need is a resistance band.
Side Reaches
You extend your arms out while seated, flexing your core to stay upright.
