Cell Phone Stores are a Great Place For Emergency Repairs

A while back, the footplate on my chair came lose and fell to the ground as I was heading home from work. While it was still attached to my chair, it was giving me literally no ground clearance and was making the loudest and most horrific noises as it ground against the concrete. There may have been sparks.

There was no way I was going to be able to get home without fixing it first. Luckily, I had the tools I needed to fix it with me (always carry your repair tools, kids). Unfortunately, I needed to find a place to sit down to fix the issue.

As I thought about the best place to bum a chair to sit in, I remembered that there was an AT&T store just around the corner from where I was. I went in, explained my situation, and they gladly let me sit at one of their signing tables while I fixed my chair.

That day I discovered that cell phone stores are a great place to do emergency repairs on your chair. They’re quiet, spacious, usually empty, have plenty of places to sit down, and the staff is more than willing to assist you given that you’re probably the most interesting thing to walk through the door that day.
